By using Da Plate Lunch Index (“the Site”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site. These Terms are governed by Hawaii law.
The Site
Da Plate Lunch Index is an editorial directory of independent food businesses in Hawaiʻi. Listings are curated by our editorial team. Presence on the Site is not an endorsement and is not for sale as a placement.
User Content
When you submit a review, tip, or question (“Content”), you grant Ikena Group a perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display that Content on the Site and in promotional materials related to the Site.
You are responsible for your Content. You may not submit Content that is false, defamatory, harassing, or that you do not have the right to publish.
We reserve the right to remove Content that violates these Terms or our editorial standards without notice.
Kūpuna Program
Kūpuna status is awarded editorially at our discretion based on review history, Hawaiʻi IP signals, and local knowledge. It is not a guarantee and may be revoked if we find evidence of abuse.
Owner Claims ($29/mo)
Restaurant owners may claim their listing for $29 per calendar month (“da moon”). The subscription is billed monthly by Stripe. You may cancel at any time via the billing portal; your access continues through the end of the paid period.
A claimed listing grants you the ability to edit your hours, post a daily special, reply to reviews, and upload photos. It does not give you the right to remove legitimate reviews or alter our editorial rankings.
If we determine that claimed listing benefits are being used to suppress authentic reviews or manipulate rankings, the claim will be revoked without refund.
Prohibited Conduct
- Creating fake reviews or operating coordinated review campaigns.
- Using automated tools to scrape or overload the Site.
- Impersonating a business owner without authorization.
- Submitting content that infringes third-party intellectual property.
Disclaimers
Business information (hours, menus, prices) may be outdated. Always call ahead. We are not responsible for experiences at listed businesses.
THE SITE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY HAWAII LAW, IKENA GROUP DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
Limitation of Liability
Ikena Group’s total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Site shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced on the Site with 14 days’ notice before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
